The Great Lake Monster have continued to show itself . Today there are more than 200 written statements from 500 witnesses who claim to have seen The Monster. These people’s statements have inspired art, books, essays, sagas, films, songs and news articles. The beasts have been given its own website and observation points all around The Great Lake and have its own societies both within and outside the county of Jämtland.
The Monster have shown a great interest for bays and other shallow waters. Bigger, deeper waters seem to frighten the animal and very few sightings have been made on these locations. Before the whole lake been observed no definitive conclusions can be made. The fact is that The Great Lake Monster show itself at the most inhabited places of the lake. An explanation for this could be that few people detain themselves on these deeper, bigger areas of the lake.The Monster has showed it self during the warmest months of the year. However, there are observations at fall and all the way until December.
